We develop and support traditional, on-line, and distance learning training at the community, national, and international levels. We are multi-lingual and are recognized for our ability to provide intelligible, culturally competent technical instruction while using the most technologically advanced methodologies.

Technical Assistance

DB’s Technical Assistance (TA) Services provide customers with innovative solutions for capacity building and meeting objectives and performance goals. We have extensive experience working with diverse people groups and organizations in various stages of development and capability. DB employs our proven outcome-based TA approach to develop responsive and proactive TA services. Our TA approach begins with a clear definition and statement of the condition, problem, or issue for which TA is required. DB’s professionals work in collaboration with the client to devise a specific TA strategic plan to guide the development, delivery, and evaluation of services provided, and details the scope of TA available.

In delivering effective outcome-based TA support, DB ensures the roles and responsibilities of all parties are clearly understood. Our clients are assigned specific TA coordinators who are knowledgeable regarding the client’s challenge, scope, and resource requirements. This ensures appropriate support services are identified and delivered in a timely and effective manner. DB carefully identifies, screens, verifies, and evaluates all of our TA resources to ensure they are the most effective and appropriate way to meet the client’s complex and changing needs.

DB’s TA services have been provided to NASA, DHHS, ED, and HUD. For example, DB provides TA to HUD’s national system of 1,300 Neighborhood Networks centers providing computer facilities and instruction for residents of low-income multifamily housing.

DB’s training services are designed to meet the individual needs of our clients. We offer our customers competency building services, specializing in customized curriculum development using the latest in instructional doctrine and methodology. We provide on-site or off-site training programs delivered in highly productive learning environments. DB provides interactive distance learning and instruction unrestricted by time, walls, or location, including Web-based courses, webcasts, video teleconferences, and self-guided learning packages. We develop instructional programs that cover technically complex subject matter in very clear and understandable formats. Our training services are designed using a problem-based learning approach and instructional designs that are competency-based and delivered in results-oriented formats. Our instructional developers and trainers work with our clients to determine course objectives and outlines and select the most effective teaching methods.

DB’s training programs and materials utilize a multicultural approach and are sensitive to cultural and linguistic differences. Our training specialists strive to ensure the recipients of training achieve competence in skills or abilities that will allow them to function effectively in their work assignments. DB’s approach often includes the use of real-time problems and case studies so participants can learn both content and critical thinking skills. To measure the effectiveness of our training, we build evaluations into every project. Our training approach has been successfully used in a wide variety of situations, including preparing training programs for project managers at NASA, developing training for public health professionals in prevention effectiveness for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), preparing workshops for HUD on screening and eviction requirements in public housing, and providing training in cultural competence for Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) staff.
